Currently, all crosshairs for Insomniac Games are pointed at Marvel’s Wolverine. A new gameplay demo was showcased recently with the game aiming for its September release. However, Insomniac Games are to still continue its relationship with Marvel after this new release it was stated previously. There are still whispers of a Venom game still being tossed around as recent as May this spring.
The most recent entry was Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which released back in 2023. “If you are new to PlayStation, a disabled player looking for a blockbuster they can fully experience, or a returning fan, playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an absolute no-brainer and its easily one of my favorite open world games I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing for myself,” our 9.5/10 review for the game reads.
In anticipation for Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day hitting theaters next month, a new trailer was released. Closing the trailer revealed that a new DLC inspired by the suit for the fourth Tom Holland film will be released the same day as the movie. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
This is not the first instance a suit from a Spider-Man movie was issued to a Marvel’s Spider-Man title in post-launch. Back in 2018 after popular demand, the Toby Maguire suit from the Sam Rami trilogy was added to Marvel’s Spider-Man. And similarly, the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse suit was added to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales later in 2020.
Noted, this is likely the extent of any other additional DLC to hit Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Back in 2024, Insomniac Games confirmed all planned premium add-ons for the sequel was no longer underway for release after initially promised. You can read the full report by heading here.
