After the triumphant three releases by Insomniac Games with its Marvel’s Spider-Man series, the developer is moving ahead with Marvel’s Wolverine. It is scheduled to release later in September 2026 for PlayStation 5. In the past, Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal did express likeliness that a Wolverine crossover would make sense. He even entertained hopes that Deadpool would be high on his wishlist as well.
And it is understood that there are more Marvel titles to come. Back in November 2025, Marvel Comics did verify that its partnership with Insomniac Games isn’t to cease after Marvel’s Wolverine with plans to expand with more releases after. One anticipated project running off the coat tails of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a Venom game; which Insomniac Games has said to be listening to demand by its players in the past.
Well according to Miles Morales voice actor Nadji Jeter, the game is not likely moving forward due to the passing of Tony Todd he said on the Love It Film podcast. You can watch the segment of the podcast in the video below:
“We were gonna have a Venom game. We were going to drop- yeah, we were going to have a Venom game and a DLC, but we lost Tony Todd,” Jeter explained. “They showed me how it was going to start. They showed me how it was going to be. It was gonna be a Venom video game.” However, according to insider Jason Schreier, that is not the case despite the voice actor’s statement.
On ResetEra, Schreier responded to the claim with: “that isn’t true.” So it appears that while Insomniac Games is not officially commenting on the statement by the Miles Morales voice actor, the firm is still expected to continue working on the project in incubation. So that leaves the question, who could be the new voice for Venom to succeed Tony Todd?
Well on X, O’Shea Jackson Jr, the son of rapper Ice Cube, has remained vocal on usurping the role that Tony Todd mantled in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. “Y’all gotta give someone else a chance, let him audition, you can’t get Tony Todd back, but don’t let that be a reason to let Venom die without having reached his full potential, overall after the lackluster story MSM2 had,” Jackson said in a post.
Are you hopeful that a Venom game does come out eventually from Insomniac Games?
