For those who’ve planned to play the Gwent out of beta this holiday will be disappointed, as CD Project Red has pushed the release to 2018.
The card rendition of The Witcher has been in beta, and still is for some time now. With many who have looked forward to playing the full version along with the Thronebreaker single-player expansion.
Revealed by CD Project Red co-founder Marcin Iwiński apologizes about the decision for the game in a post on the Gwent Website. Iwiński stating:

Shifting release windows is always something we approach seriously, however, we’ll never hesitate to do it if we feel you’ll get a better game as a result.

In regard to the delay, CD Project Red plans to add more updates as the release comes closer. Along with more content additions like cards and other in-game add-ons.
