Last week we heard about Rare planning to charge Sea of Thieves players gold when they die in the game. However, the developer has now abandoned this plan following feedback from players.
According to the original description, this new feature would have charged players ” a small gold fee” upon death, with the amount charged being dependent on how the player died.
Of course, players were not happy to hear about this new feature and were quick to voice their displeasure on various social media sites.

“Thank you all for your feedback on our previously discussed Coming Update, Death Cost. Due to your passionate comments, we have decided not to move forward with this feature,” the developer wrote in an update. “Thanks for the honest feedback & discussion on this.”
Sea of Thieves is available now on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
