We were almost certain we wouldn’t hear about acquisitions from THQ Nordic following the recent purchase of Kingdoms of Alamur properties, but it turns out that the Austrian publisher wasn’t done just yet. THQ Nordic has announced the acquisition of both Alone in the Dark and Acts of War IPs.

Posted on the company’s Twitter, the Lovecraftian survival horror and real-time strategy will now be part of THQ Nordic series of acquired franchises.

As the publisher continues to stock up on fan-loved series by acquiring the rights for these titles, the question is if they will be able to take advantage of the games to their fullest. Recently it was revealed that, though THQ Nordic owns the properties to Kingdoms of Alamur, they are unable to release a remaster due to EA owning the publishing rights. Seeing that the last title for Alone in the Dark could be considered one of the worst in 2015, it might be tough for THQ to get the franchise back on its feet.

Though the publisher has acquired titles from the original THQ before closing in 2012 like Saint’s Row and Dead Island, they haven’t done much to return these major series. Recently it was revealed Nordic has been keeping Dead Island 2 alive revealing that the game is still in development since being revealed back in 2014.
