Going a few months back, it was announced by Bungie that studio formed a partnership with a Chinese Internet technology firm, NetEase. In the discussion following the reveal of the two’s partnership, the reason for this was to create a new title with the combined minds. Since then nothing has surfaced on what the two company have planned for the future.

Now it was recently discovered that the Washington-based studio has filed a trademark for a new IP. Titled ‘Matter’, this was filed through European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The application being filed under categories 9 & 41 representing “Computer game software” and “online electronic games”.

This isn’t new seeing titles being leaked through their respected trademark. Most recently this being Bethesda’s Starfield. Though we know of the game, for when we might expect to see an official reveal from the developer can be years from now. With the scale of titles from Bungie, it’s smart to assume Matter will be an next generation title as of right now.

In other Bungie-related stories, we played the latest expansion for Destiny 2, which you can check our review here.
