The current Apex Legends landscape is shaping into a new, exciting form for the battle royale. Season 28 – Breach arrived in February delivering a new Hardlight windows to the core experience. Additionally, the team officially mapped out the roadmap for the live-service with plans leading well into 2027 with new content, cosmetics, and a Legend as well.

As for the major updates that came out thus far, Apex Legends just finished up its third major collaboration – Gundam. The Apex Games officially crossed paths with the beloved Japanese franchise and came with a swarm of in-game items alongside inspired Gundam sets too. However, this will be one of the last major updates coming to Nintendo Switch for Apex Legends as Respawn Entertainment confirmed that support is to be severed later this summer.

Currently, a new event has gone live for Apex Legends: Aftershock. From March 31st to April 21st, the mid-season update welcomes a new Elite Hemlock and Legends Wraith, Gibraltar, Wattson all receive noticeable changes to their respected kits. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“Tear through enemy defenses with the new Hemlok Breach AR: it’s packing full-auto fire, a Silencer and a Breach Launcher with new Breach Shot mode. It’s a lot. In the best way,” the developer writes on the new weapon. It goes on for the new Gibraltar revamp: “With a new passive that will allow him to traverse and rotate quicker, some quality of life updates to his base kit and some meaningful upgrades to let you choose your playstyle.

“The Dome of Protection has become easier and easier to push these days so we wanted to give Gibraltar some better defenses and faster resets.” The note on Wraith’s revamp says: “We wanted to address this by giving her some meaningful buffs to her base kit and by giving her some more interesting upgrade options that will provide more utility for her team.”

Then the note for Wattson’s update also reveals: “We wanted to give Wattson some unique ways to interact with Hardlight meshes and provide some quality of life updates to her kit.” Wild Card also receives new energy with Vortex Shields. The Titanfall ability makes its debut in Apex Legends bringing new ways to play. There is also a new EMP Blast that can be enabled when playing in the new mode.
