Hardware company Analogue over time has shown to revise beloved hardware for the new age of preservation & nostalgia. In the past, it done so with the Analogue Pocket. Alongside the sleek design to meet modern standards, the handheld is compatible with titles from Game Boy, Atari Lynx, and NEO Geo Pocket Color. But, that is only the first major project from Analogue.
Later in 2023, Analogue announced the new ‘Analogue 3D’ which provides a new modern peripheral to revisit the titles of the Nintendo 64. Alike the Analogue Pocket, the product was promised with a 2024 release window when pre-orders went live, but was then pushed to 2025 as the team needed more time working on the machine.
Now, the Analogue 3D is expected to ship later this month in August 2025. The pre-order cycle went live until the close of 2024 with Analogue scheduling shipping to take place in Q1 2025. However, that was until its announcement in July that the following month will finally face systems being sent to those who pre-ordered.
“We are working hard to get your 3D order in hands asap and appreciate your patience. If you have an open preorder no action is needed. As always, if you’d like to cancel your pre-order at any time, Analogue has always had a no questions asked, 100% refund policy for pre-orders,” Analogue writes. “Before shipping your order, we will email you one week in advance to ensure we have an up-to-date shipping address. You may cancel your order at any time for a full refund before shipment.”
Revisiting older games continues to be a strong campaign in recent times. In 2024, GameStop announced that select locations will be participating in its ‘GameStop Retro’ initiative that will return legacy titles as well as consoles to stores for purchase once more.
