A closed alpha for Battlefield 1 is coming this week according to a recent report from Gamespot. A reference to the closed multiplayer test was made in a preview published by the site on Sunday.

“And I’ve only spent an hour in the maps that will be available in the game’s closed alpha next week,” the previewer says, “so I can’t say whether this unpredictability will become rote as I play more of the multiplayer shooter. But I can say that, from my brief time with the game, I came away excited for what feels like a return to form for the series.”

EA has yet to officially announce this or have they said how players could get involved in the alpha test. We do know that there will be a beta test will be out before the game launches October 21st for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
