For those that remember just a couple years back, Telltale Games was closed for good. However, now the developer is back up and running thanks to LCG Entertainment which restarted the heart for the beloved game studio. Currently, the team is working on the second entry for the long-awaited The Wolf Among Us based on graphic novel series, Fables.
However, Telltale Games’ most recognized series The Walking Dead is officially finished. After the unfortunate closing and brief resurrection at the time thanks to Skybound Games, the series has been put to rest after four games. However, there is also the instance of a reworked collection for Xbox One & PlayStation 4 at the time.
In a new press release from Skybound, the company announced that Clementine will live beyond the Telltale Games’ series in a new titular book series, Clementine. You can view the cover for Book One below:

“It’s a new beginning for Clementine, the star of the bestselling video game franchise Telltale’s The Walking Dead, in Clementine Book One, as she’s back on the road, looking to put her traumatic past behind her and forge a new path all her own,” the description reads for Book One
“But when she comes across an Amish teenager named Amos with his head in the clouds, the unlikely pair journeys North to an abandoned ski resort in Vermont, where they meet up with a small group of teenagers attempting to build a new, walker-free settlement. As friendship, rivalry, and romance begin to blossom amongst the group, the harsh winter soon reveals that the biggest threat to their survival…might be each other.”
Artist/writer Tillie Walden had this to share on the new project, “Starting out with a character like Clementine is both a huge responsibility and joy. Clementine is a person who brings adventure with her everywhere she goes, and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to take her beyond the world of the games, to somewhere new and thrilling (like the top of a mountain!). She is a force and drawing and writing her story has been one of the best experiences in my cartooning life.”
Clementine Book One is to be made into trilogy with the first arriving next month. This is not the first instance that a video game is later welcomed to the overarching canon of the source material. Previously, DC Comics for Issue #1000 for Batman’s Detective Comics confirmed that the Arkham Knight from Rocksteady Studios’ Batman Arkham Knight will be present.
In terms of other comic related announcements with video games, Dark Horse Comics is opening its own video game division. “Now is the perfect time to expand our vision into gaming,” Mike Richardson, Dark Horse Comics Founder & President said. “Dark Horse Games gives us exciting new ways to engage with fans of all kinds on a multitude of platforms.” You can read the full report by heading here.
