In 2021, Ubisoft Toronto announced the studio had started working on a remake for the Splinter Cell franchise. Since then, we haven’t received any news on the project despite some teases in the last couple of years.
In the last week on LinkedIn, the Splinter Cell Remake Director, David Grivel, announced that he is rejoining Ubisoft Toronto as the Game Director. David started on the project in 2021, then went on to do Game Design Consulting along with other full-time positions. He has now come full circle as a “permanent full-time” employee working on the Splinter Cell Remake.
David Grivel’s background includes two years as Senior Design Director on Battlefield 6 after initially leaving Ubisoft. He was also the Lead Game Designer on Far Cry 6 prior to starting the highly anticipated remake.

In 2022, Ubisoft Toronto released a first look at the Splinter Cell Remake concept art. That has been the only look we’ve received of the game thus far. Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is now on Netflix, as it debuted in October with positive reviews.
At this time, Ubisoft has not given any indication of when we’ll see a new Splinter Cell title.
