Deltarune Chapters 1-4 Launches This June For Switch 2/PS4/PS5/PC

After Undertale, creator Toby Fox moved on to a new, but connected IP – Deltarune. Back in 2018, he clarified that the new experience is nowhere close to being finished. And periodically, Toby Fox rolled out each chapter for Deltarune in 2019 as well as 2021 respectively for Chapter 1 & Chapter 2. But, the wait for the next chapter has been a long one.

Rewinding back to 2023, Toby Fox announced that work is moving along for Chapter 3. While piecing together the new portion of Deltarune, he also told that work has begun for Chapter 4 as well. By November that year, the developer went on to clarify that a new business model is coming for the game. After Chapter 4, you will have to pay for the new content.

From the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct this week, Toby Fox reappears to reveal that Chapter 3 & Chapter 4 are coming this June. Shared with the release for the new console, Deltarune Chapter 1-4 will be coming. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“You only have to buy the game once – upcoming Chapters will be added as free updates. That’s not factored into the cost, though. I only feel right charging for what there currently is, not what I say there will be. Therefore, this $24.99 to me represents the exact price of 4 Chapters! But, it’s my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you’ll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal. Just wait, I’ll prove it to you…!” he wrote in the newsletter.

“As an effort to make the most of being a LAUNCH TITLE for the Nintendo Switch 2, I really wanted to try to do something special…So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!! You can see it in the trailer!!

“But, don’t worry! Even if you can’t get your hands on a Nintendo Switch 2 right away, the other versions of the game also have THE SPECIAL ROOM, with a completely different control scheme! (To clarify, all non-Nintendo Switch 2 versions have the exact same content as each other.) There is no meaningful difference in content amount, dialogue, setting, music etc between any version, so you will have a full package of fun no matter which you get! No one gets left out!”
