Rare’s Sea of Thieves since its rocky launch earlier this year has slowly turned around with the addition of new content being added to the online open world title, most recently with the Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores expansions which introduced new creatures, ships, and locales to give you a reason to return if you already lost interest. In this new update, a thick layer of fog has emerged from the depths below covering the surface of the deep blue making your voyages more hazardous when close to landmasses. Other foes that will be surface in the latest update includes more skeleton crews as they populate the scattered skeleton forts throughout the game’s map. And within the fog a new skeleton ship, The Devil’s Roar has been uncovered which is said to be more unpredictable than the more ordinary skeleton crew ships. Alongside the new ship of the undead introduces the skeleton sloop, which features a more agile way of attacking players that run into conflict with it.
Loot also has been expanded upon as players clear out the newly inhabited skeleton forts, ancient bone dust and stronghold gunpowder barrel which can be sold for a good price to the Merchant Alliance. Ancient Mermaid Statues have started to appear again, when destroyed players can find mystical gemstones which can be traded to any of the three companies for a good bargain.
