Hogwarts Legacy from Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche was a tremendous success as it has now sold a total of 22 million copies by the end of 2023. Warner Bros. also shared that Hogwarts Legacy sold 2 million copies in December alone.
To put things into perspective, the game launched on February 10, 2023, and in less than a year it became one of the top-selling games. It overtook Call of Duty for #1 in US sales for the year and broke a 15-year trend. When it comes to these types of sale numbers for games it’s almost a guarantee a sequel will eventually come.
In the exclusive feature from Variety, Warner Bros. Games teases a series of unannounced projects are in the works on top of Quidditch Champions which they are currently developing.
With all that time and money and magic spent on the game, Haddad and Co. are already working on follow-up additions to the Potterverse’s video game world. That includes the previously announced title featuring Quidditch (the wizard sport that was left out of “Hogwarts Legacy,” to fans’ chagrin), which is currently in the beta-testing phase, but also “a series of other things” that are currently unannounced and “will let the fans be part of this world and stories and characters in deeper and deeper ways,” Haddad says.
Hogwarts Legacy is a great action RPG that is available on Xbox Series XlS, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
