Current Xbox fans should have already marked their calendar for this coming July as the first full showcase for Halo Infinite and other first-party titles for the Xbox Series X are scheduled to take place later on this year. Microsoft following the announcement of May’s Xbox 20/20 monthly showcase shared that there will be a large emphasis on coming titles for the new system.

Howbeit, it looks that developer 343 Industries despite the coming console launch title still being months away from arriving is already working towards a new Halo entry as well. According to a job listing on Microsoft’s career category, it reveals that 343 industries is in search for a candidate to take the position for Senior Producer at the developer.

Reading the contents of the listing unveils that a new project is underway, but does not elaborate on what exactly this new entry will be. “343 Industries is looking for a Senior Producer to work with our Core Services team to help develop a new project in the Halo universe,” the listing shares upon reading.

Regarding the timing of the listing and the current project at 343 Industries near completion for release in the latter of 2020, it is safe to assume this unnamed Halo project is not a sequel or follow-up to Halo Infinite. Instead, we can presume that the listing entails that a spin-off of sorts could be underway as the series have received previously. Looking at previous releases, it could either be another Halo Wars title or a side entry related to the series.

The likeliness is higher in hopes for the latter as we received a second Halo Wars back in 2017: the last direct spin-off for the first-person genre released back in 2010 with Halo Reach. So there is the possibility that 343 Industries is looking to the universe’s source material to interpret into game form. Or perhaps the team is looking to pursue an entirely new experience for the series with this new, unannounced game.

What do you think 343 Industries has in store for Halo next?
