Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One releases on November 12th alongside the brand new Xbox One Experience. Backwards Compatibility is free and allows you to play selected Xbox 360 titles that already belongs to you. Xbox LIVE Gold is not necessary for the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility but for features like multiplayer it will. Here is the full list in a picture shown from a foreign site:
