This month, developer Ninja Theory after quietly working on its current project ‘Senau’s Saga: Hellblade II’ since the announcement of the Xbox Series X has finally delivered the game. Rectify Gaming in our review for the game offered it a perfect score. “Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II emerges as a visual and storytelling masterpiece, and is unquestionably the best-looking game I’ve witnessed on Xbox Series X since its launch.”

One of the biggest surprises to come from Ninja Theory recently though is what is going on internally at Microsoft. According to Windows Central, the developer is facing continued support from the firm with plans moving ahead on the next major release from the developer. Of course, this unnamed title remains to be years away as Ninja Theory still has one more game underway.

In 2020, Ninja Theory announced ‘Project: Mara’. Alongside the realistic visuals of Hellblade II, Project: Mara continues this trend whilst also integrating Ninja Theory’s continued intrigue into mental experiences offering a new experimental route for storytelling. One of the updates on the game revealed the team used a new form of room scanning technology for the apartment seen in the trailer.

However, what does draw eyes to this claim is the current state of management at Xbox. It is no secret that the firm closed four Bethesda teams recently: Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games, Tango Gameworks, and Roundhouse Studios. The most surprising being the Hi-Fi Rush developer especially after Matt Booty’s statement on the move. “We need smaller games that give us prestige and awards.”

One of the biggest gripes that players are hoping is addressed before Ninja Theory moves on from Hellblade II is the launch of the game. In that, there is currently no physical version of the title available for purchase. You can read the full report by heading here.
