The Castlevania IP remains dormant in its original medium. The video game franchise sits still with the latest game being unique to Apple Arcade. However, Video Game Chronicles reports that the series is being rebooted by a third-party developer as Konami gives the keys to the franchise. But, many fans are left satisfied with other forms of entertainment.
Over on Netflix, the property has been translated into an anime series. Most recently, Season 4 for the show arrived in May 2021 with the momentum to be maintained moving forward. In that, Netflix at Geeked Week last year shared that a new spin-off anime show is in the works with Richter Belmont & Maria Renard as the main cast.
From 2022’s Geeked Week, Netflix unveils the untitled anime series as ‘Castlevania: Nocturne’. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:
“The series is led by showrunner Kevin Kolde and Creator/Writer Clive Bradley and produced by Project 51 Productions with production services provided by Powerhouse Animation. Castlevania: Nocturne follows Richter, a descendant of the Belmont family, popularized in the iconic Symphony of Night and Blood of Rondo Castlevania games,” the description for the new show reads in the trailer’s description.
Netflix also made a separate announcement at the same Geeked Week event on Friday. In that, Dragon Age: Absolution is also in the works and is planned to arrive to the service this December later on in 2022. You can read the full report by heading here.
