For Assassin’s Creed fans, the IP has launched its latest installment earlier this year – Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game is an answer to the longing of fans wanting a title set in Feudal Japan. Recently, Ubisoft launched the new title for Nintendo Switch 2. And while post-launch plans to proceed with its promised periodical updates, the firm did say that plans for a major expansion is not currently planned for next year.
As for other anticipated efforts from Ubisoft of that same cloth, there has been an ongoing number of reports for a remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. But, there has been little information on when players can expect to see the game. That was until this past month in November that insiders are confident the title is to ship by March 2026 next year.
Amid the wait, there is an update on the matter. It was revealed via @CorkbenYT on X that Ubisoft rated ‘Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’ on the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) board.
Given the timing of the announcement, there is many reasons to suspect that Ubisoft is planning to officially unveil the game this week. The biggest opportunity for the publisher to do so is at The Game Awards. Recently, it was confirmed that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be present at the show. So that leaves a window for another Ubisoft title to fill that role instead.
As for what else could come from Ubisoft in this vein, it was previously addressed that the repertoire of Assassin’s Creed games are eligible for remakes as well. While Black Flag has been the main talking point, other entries before it are also being considered too. You can read the full report by heading here.
