The PlayStation Network had been down for almost a full day. It initially went offline around 6:00 PM on Friday, February 7th, and remained down until early afternoon on Saturday, February 8th. Players started reporting that PSN started to slowly come back around 4 PM ET.

As of 6:00 PM ET today the PlayStation Network is officially back online for Account Management, Gaming and Social, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct.

Sony has not come out publicly and said what the cause was of the downtime for PSN. This was the second-longest outage since April 2011 when PSN was down for several days.
