What happened to be an exciting and also disappointing discovery back in February happened to be the leaked Crash Bandicoot game from Candy Crust developer King which was reported to hit mobile platforms in the coming future. Although fans were eager that another release for the nostalgic character is on its way, many were underwhelmed that the game would only be available through the confines of their smart phone.
Since then, word has yet to disclose what exactly is in mind for the game regarding a release in the coming future. But now according to report from Pocket Gamer, the Crash Bandicoot mobile release has actually ‘soft-launched’ in China this week.
As expected from the images that were shared previously, the game shows to include an endless running experience as you collect Wumba fruit and spin attack Cortex’s henchmen in the midst of your playthrough. Now, the game dubbed Crash bandicoot Mobile is now shared to offer more than what is presented at first glance.
The game is shared to implement several bosses that the player will face when overtaking Wumba Island occupied by Cortex and his endless armada of henchmen. Even more, players can also indulge in a crafting system which will assist players with useful weapons like rayguns and bombs that you can develop to fight off the beefier foes you will face ahead in your journey.
Activision later following the initial reporting from Pocket Gamer went to confirm that Crash Bandicoot Mobile is a “small-scale playtest open to select users” for Android owners in Malaysia. The update also suggests that the publisher will disclose more details on the game regarding a full-fledge release with more supported regions as well in the coming future.
Elsewhere in a separate report from this week, it was rumored that a new Crash Bandicoot game is in preparation of releasing for the new consoles. The claim suggests that Activision is speaking with Sony on the matters of a potential exclusive plan of some sorts or when the game officially ships. You can read the report in full by heading here.
