Per what else is on the radar for the IP, it was previously reported that Sony Interactive Entertainment were internally piecing together at least one duo of live-service titles tied to the IP before being quietly canceled at PlayStation Studios. But, it was just released today during the PlayStation State of Play that God of War: Sons of Sparta is available – a 2D action experience on PlayStation 5.
During the same showcase, it was revealed that Santa Monica Studio is also working on remaking the original God of War trilogy for modern systems. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:
“We’re thrilled to confirm that the original God of War trilogy is being remade – and what better way to announce it than with the legendary TC Carson who brought Kratos to life in the Greek saga!” the developer says. “This project is still very early in development, so we ask for your patience as it will be a while before anything else can be shared. When we can come back with an update, we aim to make it a big one!”
As for other recent God of War news, the live-action show found its Kratos on Amazon Prime Video. Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead star Ryan Hurst has been casted for the leading role. You can read the full report by heading here.
