
After numerous leaks, Valve has officially announced the new Steam Controller releases May 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET.
The Steam Controller is built with all the inputs to play all of your games on Steam. You can use it on PC, Laptop, Steam Deck, or any device that uses Steam or Steam Link. It’s also designed to play with the upcoming Steam Machine and Steam Frame.
Some of the features of the controller include a 35+ hour battery life.
Here are the features of the Steam Controller from Valve:

o Next-generation magnetic thumbsticks with TMR technology
o Full-sized controls
o Trackpads
o Grip buttons
o Grip-enabled Gyro (Grip Sense)
- Comes with a cool puck!
o Puck serves as a wireless transmitter for a fast, stable connection
o …and it’s also a charging station (clicks in magnetically to your Controller)
- Battery life capable of supporting 35+ hours of gameplay
When can I order the Steam Controller?
The Steam Controller can’t be purchased until May 4th, and it will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia. It will be available in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan via an official distributor, Komodo Station, in these regions.
