Entertaining the idea of Until Dawn being a prevalent IP for PlayStation once again was a fever dream just a few years back. But now, the series has returned officially with Ballistic Moon thanks to the Unreal Engine 5 remaster of the 2015 title. Even more, reports point towards a sequel with Horizon: Call of the Mountain studio Firesprite Games.
Additionally, a live-action film is underway at PlayStation Productions. Director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation) is to also take the director’s chair for the new video game adaptation. In a newer report, it was revealed that the casting consists of exciting talent including Peter Stormare who will be reprising his role from the original game.
In a new update from Sandberg on Instagram, the live-action production for Until Dawn has officially completed filming. Now, the movie is to enter post-production for the following months with a trailer likely to surface next year.
Of course, this is not the only film centered around a video game franchise to complete its filming. Back in September last month, the filming for the upcoming Watch Dogs live-action film was also finished at the time. The new production stars Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) and Sophie Wild (Talk to Me).
Even earlier in 2024, production finally completed for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Probably the most notorious video game film for the year, the movie is set to hit theaters in late December later this holiday. The largest reveal of the project includes Keanu Reeves (Matrix, John Wick) as the voice for Shadow the Hedgehog. You can read the full report by heading here.
