Developer Yacht Club Games recently held an announcement presentation to disclose the next set of plans arriving for its notorious Shovel Knight series and other products from the development team. The studio did reveal that the previously announced King of Cards story expansion will officially arrive later this year in December. The team also announced a new project in collaboration with Nitrome with the reveal of Shovel Knight Dig.
In this upcoming title, Shovel Knight must take his ventures under the earth’s surface as the Drill King along with his crew destroy the hero’s campsite. Using his Shovel Blade, our blue protagonist must fight his way through the bevy of enemies and other creatures that live within the crevasses of the underneath.
Shared from Yacht Club Games, the studio reveals that every adventure you take on underground will be randomly generated as “every adventure is different.” When on your subterranean journey, you will collect an abundance of loot which you can use when returning to the surface to purchase new items and new costumes for Shovel Knight to show off when digging back into action.
The developers announced that this new title will also introduce new Knights to the franchise with the debut of Mushroom Knight for the title. More of the game is expected to be revealed for the game in the coming future as no release date has yet to be announced following the project’s announcement.
Shovel Knight Dig is listed for Nintendo Switch and has been announced to be playable at PAX West later this week.
