While Marvel’s Avengers continues to run on a slump since the game’s release this past September, developer Crystal Dynamics just unveiled the next major addition that might bring new players to its lobbies. As part of the first ever Square Enix Presents showcase on Thursday, the game studio announced that Black Panther will be coming to the game later this year.

Dubbed ‘Black Panther: War for Wakanda’, the new expansion will welcome the titular Marvel superhero looks to welcome a new setting alongside the promise of more enemies and experiences that is included. Noted, this is to also be alongside the already announced Spider-Man DLC scheduled to arrive later this year as well.

However, upon further clarifying with IGN, Crystal Dynamics discloses that the Spider-Man add-on for Marvel’s Avengers is not arriving as soon as the team would like. Instead, the content is expected to arrive later this summer.

I can tell you that, formally, officially, people are working on him right now. So it is still on our roadmap for the future. But there are people working on [him], and we still fully expect Spider-Man to come to PlayStation.

Gathered from the statement, the team reiterates its faith to release the DLC for PlayStation exclusively it appears .The outlet further elaborates that Crystal Dynamics aims to issue the add-on for Black Panther ahead of the Spider-Man DLC. However, the developer does not comment on where the webhead will be arriving on the content roadmap for this year.

For more understanding on how Spider-Man will be included into Marvel’s Avengers, the game is said not to intertwine with Insomniac Games’ marvel’s Spider-Man.
