Last month at E3, Microsoft unveiled a slimmer version of Xbox One – 40% smaller to be precise. Today Major Nelson has revealed the launch date for the console which is early August.
Xbox One S includes a built-in power supply, three USB ports, and the pairing button to the front of the Xbox One S alongside the newly added IR blaster for increased accessibility. It’s also the first console to let you watch 4k content with HDR feature. All the games will also be unscaled to 4k according to Mike Ybarra. Games like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Scalebound will look even better thanks to a higher contrast ratio between lights and darks, bringing out the true visual depth.
Xbox One S comes in 3 models – 500GB ($299) 1TB ($349) and first ever 2TB ($399). 2TB version hits shelfs on August 2nd while the other models will be coming later. More info on that is coming.
It arrives on the following regions: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and United States. More regions are coming later this year.
