New 2026 Xbox Developer_Direct Showcase Set For January 22nd

Last year, the Xbox Developer_Direct was jam-packed with new titles on the horizon showcased by Microsoft. In that, first-party releases like Doom: The Dark Ages & South of Midnight was present. Additionally, other releases like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was also showcased then too. Through Xbox Game Studios publishing, PlatinumGames did present both Ninja Gaiden II Black & Ninja Gaiden 4 as well.

Now fast-forward to 2026, the showcase is expected to return. At least on the horizon for 2026 from Xbox is titles like Halo: Campaign Evolved & Gears of War: E-Day – two major returns for the platform’s biggest IPs. Not to mention other massive releases like Fable as well as Forza Horizon 6 which was announced earlier this fall.

On Thursday, the Xbox firm announced the roster for 2026’s Xbox Developer_Direct and it includes three headlining titles. The presentation is to focus on Playground Games’ Fable & Forza Horizon 6. Also, GameFreak’s Beast of Reincarnation will also be at the showcase as well.

“2026 is going to be an incredible year for Xbox players – you might even call it a… fabled year. To celebrate, we’re kicking it off with the fourth installment of our Developer_Direct broadcast on January 22, bringing you news, new gameplay, and insights directly from the incredible teams working on titles coming this year,” Xbox Wire explains for the new presentation.

“Presented by the game creators themselves, Developer_Direct will once again give you an inside look at not just the games, but the studios working to bring them to life. Fittingly for Xbox’s 25th anniversary year, that includes the return of some of our most legendary franchises, which rub shoulders with a brand new title from one of Japan’s most beloved studios.”
