The realm of Xbox releases does not simply reside on the platform curated by Microsoft anymore. Instead, you will find a plentiful helping of its recent titles now on PlayStation as well as Nintendo Switch. Just this past month, two major IPs are set to release on opposing hardware. Later this fall, Fable is to hit the PlayStation Store. Additionally, plans for a Forza Horizon 6 port for PlayStation 5 is also promised.
But, that is not the last we will hear of Xbox titles for PlayStation 5. In fact, details point to the console alongside Nintendo Switch 2 for Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield. It was reported that the port is set to release in 2026. What’s more, other whispers in the grapevine also disclosed that a ‘Starfield 2.0’ update is also planned for the new versions coming as well.
Recently, new details have emerged on what is on the way for the title and when to expect an update. In that, Sony Interactive Entertainment scheduled a PlayStation State of Play presentation later this week on February 12th. But, it is stated by one insider to not expect Starfield then. This comes from shinobi602 on ResetEra.
“Since this keeps coming up, that’s all next month,” the insider answered a question on the message board. A separate announcement would also make sense with the scope that Bethesda has planned for Starfield. It was previously told that annual expansions are the plan for the space odyssey RPG. That paired with the reported overhaul for this year will make things excited for players.
In other news attached to the approaching PlayStation State of Play, it was also indicated that Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine will not be present at the showcase as per an interaction with a fan on X recently. You can read the full report by heading here.
