Recently, there has been a handful of changes that rolled out for Xbox in some capacity. For consoles in March, the new patchwork that rolled out included new dashboard customization alongside new arrangements for the Quick Resume feature as well. On PC, it was discovered that manual game importing was implemented as third-party games & apps were found enabled for the Xbox app on the platform.

One feature that is still awaiting its own refresh is the Xbox achievements. While first pioneered by Xbox, the mechanic has not been fully reworked in some time and many were hoping it to take notes from PlayStation. In 2023, it was reported that internal conversation of implementing its own ‘Platinum’ reward would be coming. Insiders the following year pointed to a potential update later on which has still yet to materialize.

But now in 2026, Microsoft has spoken out on the system. Xbox Achievements are to receive a new visual revamp as part of a new Xbox Insiders update coming in April. Not only that, but stealing elements from Steam – the same update will also introduce new features to select which achievement lists to display on your account and even showcase games that are 100% complete as well.

“We’ve refreshed achievement notifications with a new look and feel, including updated icons and animations when you unlock classic or rare achievements. Notifications will also match your custom color, making each unlock feel more personal, senior product manager Alex Charters says.  Adding: “Select Xbox Insiders can begin testing improvements to Achievements that make it easier to celebrate your accomplishments and curate how they appear on your profile.”

Elsewhere in the blog post, it reads: “Coming later this month, you will be able hide any game from your Achievement history on your profile, giving you more control over how your accomplishments are presented. Whether you want a cleaner look or just want to highlight what matters most to you, this puts your profile in your hands. This only affects how your profile appears, hidden games will still count towards your total Gamerscore and your activity in these games will still be reported across Xbox.”

Charters continues: “We’ve also added new filter options to this view, making it easier to find your fully completed games alongside any titles you’ve chosen to hide. […] When you’ve earned all available Gamerscore for a title, you’ll now see it highlighted in your achievements list, so your hard work is easy to spot. This gives you a quick, at-a-glance way to celebrate full completion.”

How interested are you in this new feature refresh for Xbox Achievements?
