PlayStation 5 Beta Reveals New Feature Listing Popular Games With Player Counts

The PlayStation updates that rolled out over the course of this spring has remained very impactful to say the least. Starting on the tailend of February, Sony Interactive Entertainment officially shipped PSSR 2 which reworked plenty of the systems behind the PlayStation 5 Pro proprietary feature to really shine beyond the original version. In that same ballpark, PlayStation Portal also shipped its own high quality mode which bundled in improved UX as well.

On the other hand, the PlayStation Store faced some pushback recently when uncovering the surprise provision for digital purchases. A callback to the original Xbox One, users discovered that the storefront required a direct online connection for your online purchased titles to play them – even offline. While many absorbed this discovery to be a mistake, it was later addressed to be an intentional update for the PlayStation Store.

More interesting in a new update on the way comes from YouTuber Mystic. In the latest Let’s Talk Plus Weekly, Episode 726, the PlayStation 5 will be feature a new Welcome Hub widget that lists the logistics for player activity. There is a tab that can filter between ‘Trending Now’ and ‘Top 10’ for games on PlayStation Network. You can read the list of the most popular showcased from Mystic’s video below:

Additionally, it should be worth noting that this build which features this Welcome Hub widget is part of the PlayStation 5 Beta program and is not officially implemented for its global users. Furthermore, regions & territories will differ for those exploring this feature. Mystic is based in the North America and other parts of the world like the UK or EU might differ in results listed for both filtered options.

On the other side of things, Xbox is looking to update its dashboard as well moving into the new generation. From its upload of the Xbox GDC presentation earlier month revealed a new UI for its main home dashboard which differs between the one currently residing for both Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S.
