ubisoft 2029

The current Ubisoft itinerary points towards the summer release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. However, there are more titles on the way. In a previous earnings call, Ubisoft touted “several” games within the franchise are on the way. Even Far Cry was also mentioned with at least two projects in active development as well.

According to CEO Yves Guillemot speaking at the Saudi Arabia’s New Global Sport Conference, he shared that the new Far Cry projects aim to really tap into its multiplayer strengths. It is still unclear to what capacity for both titles. On the other hand, Ghost Recon is also finding new footing where it was shared at a shareholders meeting that the new title will be a first-person shooter; a new direction for the series.

All things considered, namesake IPs are receiving new ambitions that are shaping up to be interesting when released respectively. So when will these titles come out? According to Ubisoft per its full-year 2025-26 earnings figures report, the publisher disclosed that both Far Cry as well as Ghost Recon are to be administered some time by fiscal year 2029.

“The Group expects a significantly bigger content pipeline over FY2027-28 and FY2028-29 across its  major brands including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon,” the filing reads. Yves shares in a statement: “The expected outcome, beyond FY2026-27, will be an important rebound driven by a significantly stronger new release pipeline, the acceleration of our Live games and the continued reduction of our fixed cost base, with Free Cash Flow turning positive in FY2027-28 and reaching a robust level in FY2028-29.

“Overall, we expect to generate positive cumulated Free Cash Flow through the FY2026-27 to FY2028-29 period. In this context, with a comfortable liquidity position, the review of our financing options is actively progressing, with the objective of executing the most efficient financing scheme in due course.”

To understand more on the direction of its development process, Insider Gaming has pressed on the matter not too long ago. In April, the outlet addressed via sources that Far Cry is still working out a lot of kinks, described as “going through hell” to find the right direction for the new titles. Splinter Cell Remake was also coined to be facing a delay now slated with 2027 in mind. You can watch the segment by heading here.

Are you surprised by this new update for some of Ubisoft’s biggest IPs?
