When it came to the original launch of the PlayStation 5, there was a different energy going off the coattails of the PlayStation 4. At the time, live-service approach for the platform was seen as ambitious upon witnessing the success of the console at the time. Enter in Destruction AllStars – a new destruction derby IP infused with live-service elements. Despite being serviceable enough, a price cut ahead of release was issued for the game to quantify initial pushback.

But, other problems came soon after the release. By 2021, the game was already losing players as do most games in the live-service sector typically do and the developer issued an update that introduced bots to its lobbies. However, drawing in new players did not really kick off for the game either. The following year it was reported that Destruction AllStars might potentially adopt the free-to-play business model to accommodate for that.

Now in 2026 roughly half a decade later, Destruction AllStars is finally on its last legs. As of this week, Destruction AllStars is no longer available on the PlayStation Store. The game has been delisted alongside any available purchase options for its Destruction Points currency. The game is to shutter its single player later this fall in November.

“From 26 May 2026 at 14:00 UTC, Destruction AllStars and all associated virtual currency (Destruction Points) will be removed from sale at PlayStationStore and will no longer be available for purchase. Single-player modes will remain accessible to existing users until Wednesday 25 November 2026 at 15:00 UTC when all server support for Destruction AllStars shall be shut down,” the email sent to players reads.

“After this date, Arcade Mode single player challenges shall remain playable for returning players, however functionality and player experience may be impacted due to the server shutdown. Otherwise, all remaining game services will be taken offline. Any virtual currency (Destruction Points) currently owned by players can continue to be redeemed within available single-player modes until Wednesday 25 November 2026 at 15:00 UTC.

“Due to ongoing technical issues, multiplayer services for Destruction AllStars on PlayStation5 consoles shall remain offline and are no longer available.” It is impressive the runtime that Destruction AllStars maintained since shipping in 2021. Other ambitious projects like Marathon do appear to be in jeopardy recently, but Sony did address it will continue to support the game despite early shortcomings.
