Walmart is starting to pull more XBOX merchandise from it stores. A memo has been sent out to Walmart stores telling them to “remove old XBOX fixtures” from its Entertainment department. What this essentially means is the XBOX shelving space is going to get smaller.
According to Rectify Gaming’s sources, Walmart is doing this across the United States, at the very least. The only vague part if this is more related to the peripheral side of things or its game selection.
Below is the image of the memo sent out to just one of the Walmart stores.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise since Walmart has been downsizing its entertainment section in general with XBOX being stripped apart the most. Other stores like Target have also shortened the XBOX section of its store with Nintendo and PlayStation taking a bulk of the space.
In 2024, Walmart started removing physical XBOX games that began with Starfield. Now, it’s likely that even more games and peripherals will be going away.
This could also mean that old controllers and games will be taken out for newer SKUs, but we’ll find out for sure over the next couple of weeks.
