So far in July, Bethesda has faced a new direction for the firm moving forward. From Bloomberg, it was reported that Microsoft issued it to focus on five pillar IPs moving forward: Fallout, Doom, The Elder Scrolls, Quake, and Wolfenstein. Additionally, Obsidian Entertainment got stringed into this decision as a separate reported indicated that it will be working on a new Fallout title.

From the recent Bethesda Game Studios statement, it confirmed that the Fallout: New Vegas team is working on a new title. It also verified prior speculation for a remasters of the 2010 releases alongside Fallout 3 as well. In the same statement, Bethesda also announced that Starfield will proceed with further development into supporting Year 3 post-launch content later on.

Shared from the same Bethesda Game Studios note, the firm shared that The Elder Scrolls VI is currently the primary focus for the developer. It also stated that Fallout 5 is the title to follow as the game currently sits in pre-productions.

“Our teams are now developing The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 on Creation Engine 3, a shared technology platform we’ve been building since Starfield’s launch. It allows our teams to support multiple projects simultaneously with new tools, rendering, and systems that define our games,” Bethesda on X says. “Fallout 5 is currently in preproduction. The Elder Scrolls VI is our primary development focus today, with the majority of our team currently working on the next chapter of the franchise. “

The Elder Scrolls VI stands to be a monumental release for Bethesda. Not only for the prolonged wait for the title since its announcement back in 2018. But also due to the fact that Todd Howard confirm it will likely be his last major project at Bethesda Game Studios. You can read the full report by heading here.
