To determine what is underway for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the most apparent addition to the 2020-released title is the new Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S versions that are shipping this week. On Tuesday, the once PC exclusive release will be making its way to console and with that will offer a new experience never before found on the platform. Additionally, a Top Gun free update is also slated for the game later on this fall, the team reveals.

More recently, developer Asobo Studio unveiled the latest World Update V for Microsoft Flight Simulator. In that, the latest client for the game improves the world generation for namely countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. In regards to the console version, there is hopes a smaller client size will be present for the new release thanks to a drastic reduction on PC. The listing on the Microsoft Store shows so with the game asking for 123 GB.

In a new discovery over on the Microsoft Flight Simulator official blog, it is revealed that the team is continuing to listing to its players and plans to expand beyond planes for the game. In that, helicopters are on the way according to the ‘Feedback Snapshot – Top Wishlist’ category. “Planned | 2022” reads the status of the benchmark.

User Smeg86 originally requested the feature back in August last year on the Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums, writing “This is a beautiful simulator at low level and as such is crying out for a helicopter to go and explore some of the nooks and crannies that you can’t get to in most other aircraft!” It is undetermined when next year the feature will ship for the full game.

Previously, Asobo Studio heard out its users when it came to virtual reality support for Microsoft Flight Simulator. During that, it was already presumed the feature was in the mind of the developer, but the game studio officially implemented the mechanic by the end of last year.
