Despite the current popularity that is derived from Respawn Entertainment’s installment into the battle royale genre with Apex Legends, the game isn’t perfect. And the studio is aware of that and is ready to drop the first major wave of fixes to the continuously growing title with fixes for both characters as well as fan-favorite weapons as well.
The first major changes worth noting is the buffs for both the heavy ammo-focused Wingman pistol and the energy pack Peacekeeper shotgun. The Wingman receiving a reduced rate of fire, damage reduction for headshots triggered multipliers, and an increase to hip fire spread. While the Peacekeeper buff focuses on the attachable shotgun bolt piece which holds a decreased mitigation for level 1, 2, and 3 attachments.
Respawn also details why they decided to keep both the Mozambique and P2020 as is with the upcoming patch. After joking on about the ongoing gag of the shotgun shelled pistol being an inferior weapon, the developer shares that “In all seriousness, our goal is to have a power curve of weapons”. Which in layman terms means that the weapons is intentionally subservient and plays as a more common weapons while more powerful weapons hold the reputation of being less common to loot.
For how legends will be touched up with the approaching patch, here’s the list of tweaks:
- Bangalore – Double Time reduced speed time from 40% to 30%.
- Caustic – Traps reduced cooldown from 30 seconds to 25, increased radius by 10 %, and one second delay scratched towards dealing damage with smoke.
- Lifeline – Care package has lesser chance of spawning level 4 loot.
- Pathfinder – Beacon count increased from 10 to 12.
- Wraith – Cooldown for Into The Void increased from 25 seconds to 30.
