For many of those that are fairly engaged in the gaming sphere are aware of the recent announcement from Valve – the Steam company is launching new hardware next year. From the reveal last month, Valve is preparing to launch three new devices: Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Steam Frame. All will ship sometime in early 2026.Â
As for the plans of pricing, Valve has not put a pin in that just yet. In one interview, the firm did press that the pricing for its new devices are to be reflective of the current PC market. So it could be at least by 2026 that an approximate price is shared. What was also confirmed is that a themed Companion Cube Steam Machine is also to release as well from dbrand as well.
For the hardware all Steam titles are to be compatible on this cultivated ecosystem, Valve confirmed previously. But what is understood is that new software to launch with the Steam Machine according to InsiderGaming. But, the reveal won’t be at The Game Awards this week. You can watch the segment in the video below:
“There is a big game coming out in March that I can’t say just yet. But a lot of people are looking forward to it,” Tom Henderson shared in the podcast. “We’ll see in the next coming- couple of weeks if I can talk about it.“ One of the co-hosts, Mike Straw, also told during the discussion that The Game Awards is not the likely place to expect the announcement in which Henderson echoed to agree with.
Although there is nothing in stone on what it could be, many anticipate a new Half-Life announcement. The only tangible sliver to go on is a cryptic post from G-Man Mike Shapiro who hinted at an announcement coming this year. After The Game Awards, there is still a three week window for some form of reveal. You can read the full report by heading here.
