Since the beginning of the last generation of consoles with the PlayStation 3, fans have been patiently waiting to be given the option to change their usernames on the PlayStation Network. In a recent report from Kotaku, this might actually become a reality.

The outlet spoke with three unnamed sources stating that developers at several studios are working on brining the feature to the platform. In the interview it was said that the developers are “fixing bugs, tweaking settings, and ensuring that their games are compatible with Sony’s plans.”

Kotaku also shared that a forth source presented a photo to them of an account with the option to change the username. it was mentioned that there is no expected release window for the absent feature on Sony’s online network.

This news if greatly welcomed for PlayStation fans who’ve been waiting very patiently for this option. As competitor platform Xbox has had the option, it’s uncertain why not the same for PlayStation for the longest time. With the recent reveal of the PlayStation Experience being absent for 2018, this is reassuring for fans that are hungry for any PlayStation-related news.

Stay tuned for more details as this continues to develop on Rectifygaming.com.
