Nintendo has been off to a good start in 2026 with the release of a variety of games, including Pokémon Pokopia, which has been the big success of the year. However, there might be huge plans for the last half of 2026 for the Nintendo Switch 2.
According to reliable insider, Nate The Hate, Nintendo is planning to release a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a new Star Fox game this year.
“Star Fox is coming back in Summer 2026. We are getting a new Star Fox game in the very near future”, Nate said. “I’ve been told it’s a classic style Star Fox game and the visuals are supposed to be very good”.
Nate also mentions that this Star Fox game should have online multiplayer. At least that is what his sources mention.
Fans who have been expecting a new 3D Mario to release during Holiday 2026 will have to wait a little longer. According to Nate’s sources, “One game that will not be releasing in Holiday 2026 is 3D Mario. 3D Mario will be releasing in 2027”.
2026 is widely known as the 40th anniversary of the Zelda series. Nate The Hate mentions that in the second half of 2026, we are going to receive an Ocarina of Time remake for the Switch 2.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. It still stands as one of the most iconic games of all time.

The Star Fox report comes out interestingly, a day after Nintendo and Illumination revealed that Fox McCloud will be featured in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Even More Coming In 2026 For Switch 2

In the podcast, Nate also mentioned there is no general direct until June 2026. Summer 2026 could include Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and Switch Sports. It’s unclear if Nintendo Switch Sports would get a new version or just a “Switch 2 Edition”.
