Respecing in Nioh 3 allows you to undo all or part of your character’s progression and reallocate those points elsewhere. You can reset your core stats and level points. Reset your passive skills, blessings, Martial Arts, and Ninjutsu skill trees.

How Respec Works

Respec in Nioh 3 is easy and free, encouraging experimentation with different builds and weapons without penalties. You’re free to customize your character as often as you want once you’ve unlocked these options. Most of the time, you’re stuck in the game due to a wrong build, so free respec can save your progression.

How to Respec Stats in Nioh 3

Respec’ing this way is free and can be done as many times as you want once the feature is unlocked. It only resets stat and level points.

  1. Approach the Shrine and use the Level Up interface to reset your core stats and level points.
  2. Pray at the shrine and choose the Level Up option.
  3. While viewing your stats in the Level Up screen, press L3 on PlayStation, LMB on PC with controller, and 3 on PC keyboard.
  4. After resetting, you can reassign points to your attributes.

How to Respec Skills in Nioh 3

Skill tree resets affect skills unlocked using Samurai/Ninja locks. Resetting at the shrine affects stats and passive skill investments. Skill points for your combat trees can be reset from the skill menu itself.

  1. Press Start to open the main game menu.
  2. Choose Acquire Martial Arts or Ninjutsu.
  3. Navigate to the node where you’ve spent skill points.
  4. Press L3 on the PS Controller, Left Stick Click on the PC Controller, and 3 on the keyboard to bring up the reset option.
  5. Confirm to refund your skill points in that tree.

How to Respec Kodama Blessings

Martial Arts

Kodama Blessings in Nioh 3 passive buffs you can activate at Shrines after you’ve found and guided Kodama spirits back to those shrines. They provide various bonuses that help while exploring and fighting. There is no real penalty for respeccing Kodama Blessings. You can rearrange them whenever you want at Shrines as long as you have the Kodama Merit.

  1. Make your way to the Shrine to respec Kodama Blessings.
  2. Choose the option for Receive Kodama Blessings at the Shrine menu.
  3. Respec your spent Kodama Merit at any time while at a Shrine.
  4. Adjust your setup for different missions or builds.

How to Respec Jizo Blessings

Jizo Blessings are buffs you can unlock and equip using Jizo Merit. This is a special currency you earn by finding and praying at Jizo statues. These blessings give powerful bonuses that apply specifically while inside Crucibles.

  1. Go to Shrine to manage your Jizo Blessings.
  2. From the Shrine menu, look for the Jizo Blessing option.
  3. Remove or reassign your spent Jizo Merit to different Jizo Blessings within the Jizo Blessing screen.
