Currently, the Assassin’s Creed series is in a specifically unique position to say the least. Despite answering the cries for a Feudal Japan-set title, plans for major expansions for the game’s Year 2 plans are currently halted until further notice. Despite that, the firm is still confident to greenlit “several” projects internally, said CEO Yves Guillemot most recently.

One that is confirmed is the remake for 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag with ‘Resynced’ which a rating for the game appeared online in late 2025. Additionally, it was also shared last year that a new venture under the title ‘Vantage Studios’ would overlook Assassin’s Creed alongside Far Cry & Rainbow Six as part of its new leadership taking hold of the operations at Ubisoft.

Around that same time, Charlie Guillemot & Christophe Derennes were appointed co-CEOs of the publisher with the new restructuring being established then. Now this week, Ubisoft announces that Assassin’s Creed specifically is finding new overseers as well for its respected food chain. Ubisoft announced a new trio to overlook the series with Martin Schelling, Jean Guesdon, and François De Billy.

“We want to take a moment to share some important updates about the future of Assassin’s Creed.  We know that what comes next has been a big topic within the community lately, and today, we can finally share some updates, starting with the introduction of newcomers to the leadership team that will shape the future of the franchise. […] Martin, Jean, and François have a long history of making Assassin’s Creed games, including some of the series’ most memorable titles, and seeing them reunited marks the beginning of an exciting and ambitious new chapter for AC.”

Guesdon expressed in a statement: “It is wonderful to be back after all these years. Assassin’s Creed has been a defining part of my professional life and being back feels like coming home. This universe, these characters, these worlds, and of course the community have always meant so much to me. I’m especially grateful to be sharing this journey with all of you again, and look forward to sharing more about the next steps ahead for the franchise.”
