So far this year, there has been a surprising number of different Xbox controllers to roll out for players on the platform. This past August, 8BitDo revealed its Rare 40th Anniversary Controller to commemorate the Banjo-Kazooie developer. Microsoft the following month revealed its new ‘Breaker’ series featuring three new designs for the already expansive number of Xbox controllers.
Additionally, we have also seen impressive things from Hyperkin too. At least, this year has been the most interesting with its ‘Competitor’ controller. The gamepad while intended for Xbox extracts a lot of inspiration from the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. However, a more traditional approach was made with its previous Xenon Xbox 360 controllers in 2023.
November 2025 marks the 20th anniversary since the release of the Xbox 360 and Nacon is taking the opportunity to ship its own themed controller. Based on the spring-released Revolution X Unlimited controller, the company reveals a new ‘Anniversary Edition’ that draws plenty of notes from the classic Xbox 360 controller. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“The REVOLUTION X UNLIMITED controller by NACON under official Xbox license will allow you to keep control of your game. Eliminate your opponents with increased responsiveness and precision. String together victories in your favorite battle royale or FPS/TPS shooter with an arsenal of features and settings that are fully customizable via the built-in control screen,” the overview for the gamepad reads.
Although not directly cashing in on the nostalgia of the Xbox 360, Microsoft recently announced a new collaboration with Croc. There will be an Xbox controller-inspired Clog and a five pack Jibbitz featuring IPs like Fallout, Halo, and Sea of Thieves. You can read the full report by heading here.
