And it was not until this summer the series was properly greenlit for production.
Now recently, there has been a string of details on the casting for the Assassin’s Creed television series. Although unsure on what direction the series will tackle with how many timelines are attached to the universe, the choice of talent is not to be shrugged off. From Deadline, it was reported that both Toby Wallace (Euphoria, Bikeriders) and Zachary Hart (Slow Horses). The outlet does disclose shooting to begin next year in Italy to offer some understanding on the plot.
Ubisoft & Netflix in a separate announcement revealed that Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing, Trespasses) will stand for a leading role in the Assassin’s Creed TV series. Others attached behind the camera include Roberto Patino (Westworld, Sons of Anarchy) & David Wiener (Homecoming, The Killing) to showrun & executive produce. Ubisoft Film & Television’s Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill and Genevieve Jones will also executive produce.
In the same sphere, there is another Ubisoft film production nearing completion currently. It was reported in September 2024 that filming has already finished for the live-action Watch Dogs film.
