There has been a string of potentially troubling news that followed Toys for Bob previously that was quickly resolved. In 2024, there were ongoing reports that the Crash & Spyro developer would be shuttering thanks to Microsoft’s involvement, but that was denounced soon after. In fact, the team actually announced going independent that same month later in February.Â
But, another saddening report surfaced later on that year. It was disclosed from one employee that a Crash Bandicoot title was in fact in development until shuttered abruptly which certainly upset many fans. However, there was a rebound on this news. Announced at the XBOX Games Showcase, a new Spyro title was unveiled – ‘A Realm Beyond’. It shows a new story with some elements of open-world injected too.
Prior to the announcement, X leaker @noarmsandnolegs disclosed information on a new Spyro title which showed to align with the reveal this past weekend. In a later post on X, the leaker went ahead stating that Toys for Bob already has plans for a new Crash Bandicoot title. The project is said to come after A Realm Beyond.
A new Crash Bandicoot game is scheduled too, but will not be unveiled for the moment.

Things appear to be shaping better for developer Toys for Bob following the previous issues that faced the team. It was roughly five years ago that the game studio whilst still under Activision was tasked with aiding the development for Call of Duty’s Warzone. The realization certainly clouded fans’ optimism for more remakes at the time due to the decision.
Elsewhere for Crash Bandicoot recently, it was revealed that Activision is preparing transmedia plans for the orange mascot. Via trademarks filed by the publisher, television and possibly a motion picture is being shopped around as implied by the filings. You can read the full report by heading here.
Are you hopeful a new Crash Bandicoot title is to come?
