For Free, You Can Now Play A Fan-Made Halo-Infused Vampire Survivors Title On Steam

One of the biggest IPs in gaming – Halo – recently had an update on its plans for the series. Revealing Halo: Campaign Evolved, the franchise revisits the classic inaugural release for the Xbox exclusive. But this time, PlayStation is also joining as well. Unlike the past two mainline Halo releases – Halo 5: Guardians & Halo Infinite – it was confirmed that co-op play will be available at launch.

And although there is no confirmed release date, it is set for 2026. In the meantime, there is a new Halo release that isn’t from Xbox. Earlier this June, fan project ‘Spartan Survivors’ was approved to continue its work for release. “[We really love to see the passion you and your team have poured into this experience – it really is fun and we look forward to getting further in our play through and unlocking more stuff,” the statement from Halo Studios reads.

Well, that game is now available and it is free right now on Steam. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“Fight hordes of Covenant & Flood in this new game mixing Roguelite & Bullet Heaven for hours of mindless fun!” the description on the official Steam page reads. The listing also revealed that there has already been a 10,000 milestone met for Spartan Survivors on Itch.io alone. Currently, there is no confirmation how much that number has increased since releasing on Steam this week.

And although an approved Halo release by Xbox Game Studios & Halo Studios, there is more on the way for the beloved series. Previously, it was confirmed that 2026 – the 25th anniversary for Xbox and Halo – is to celebrate both brands. You can read the full report by heading here.
