
Currently, the talk of the town regarding Netflix is the acquisition of Warner Bros. As part of the deal, it is reported that the deal is in motion to acquire the Hollywood giant for $82.7 billion. The transaction is to include beloved IPs such as DC Comics, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter among others. The purchase will also include talent in gaming of its Warner Bros. Games division as well.
One of the hottest gaming related releases to hit the platform this year was Devil May Cry. Aired earlier this spring, it delivered a new resurgence for the IP. The months following, it was reported that over three million in sales for its games took place influenced from the success of the 8-episode run. Also, it was greenlit for a second season to make things more exciting.
Now at The Game Awards recently, host Geoff Keighley offered a live performance by Evanescence for the song ‘Afterlife’ that was used in the Devil May Cry animated series. Closing the performance, Keighley revealed Devil May Cry season 2 will air in spring next year. You can watch the performance in the video below:
As for details on what the new season will explore, it has yet to be addressed by Netflix just yet. But gathered from the contents of season one, and the footage provided in the performance from Evanescence, the feud between Dante & Vergil will be a major focus. Atop of that, the development of characters like Lady and hopefully inclusion of more characters of the series are added in the next season.
