Just this past fall, Sega & Sonic Team blessed fans with Sonic Team: CrossWorlds. In our review, we scored the title a 9/10. “CrossWorlds doesn’t burden itself with an elaborate story campaign, and that’s for the best. Instead of forcing you through tedious mission-based objectives, the game celebrates Sonic’s legacy through environmental storytelling and character interactions.”
As of recently, it was announced a new year of content is promised for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The new reveal shares Godzilla & Evangelion for the kart racer. Elsewhere, there has also been rumors of a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Sonic Frontiers. The game was uncovered via rating boards in Korea earlier this year.
In anticipation for what new announcements are to come for Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega & Sonic Team revealed that a new Sonic the Hedgehog ‘Birthday Livestream’ for the 25th anniversary is taking place on June 23rd.

Pointing to what could be attending, Sonic Frontiers is for sure a candidate with evidence behind the title. Last month, retailers revealed a June release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 port. Earlier today, Gematsu uncovered another listing for Sonic Frontiers’ Nintendo Switch 2 version. This time with a PEGI rating implicating an imminent release for the game to corroborate the June release.
What is likely not to be realized at tomorrow’s show is the rumored Sonic CD remake. While former Sega of America product manager Mike Fischer understood a remake was in the works, an accurate leaker says otherwise. @MajorPlayeix on X insists there is no remake at Sega.
